Music Exceeds Boundary of Headphones

MEDFORD, MA: A shocking turn of events took place in Tisch Library when Sarah Jones, a freshman at Tufts, learned that playing her music at maximum volume allowed sound waves to travel beyond her ear canal and into the surrounding area.  The discovery occurred when another student walked across the room and politely asked that she turn down her music so he would not be forced to listen to Taylor Swift.  When interviewed, Sarah stated, “I was really surprised to learn that my iPhone headphones could not contain all of the sound waves.  It seems to defy physics.”  Rather than learning from this event, it was reported that Sarah returned to Tisch Library the following day and listened to “Shake it Off” on the highest setting.  When confronted, she admitted to listening to the song on maximum volume but asked, “What are the chances that it could happen twice?”  Sarah’s headphones have had a lasting impact on the Tufts community, causing some to find other study locations and leaving others to wonder which wealthy family member had her admitted to the university.
